Laura Ortiz-Ravick: Attending the Inaugural Rural Health and Cancer Conference to Support Cancer Care in Rural Communities
Laura Ortiz-Ravick, Director of National Outreach and Health Equity Partnerships at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m excited to be attending the inaugural Rural Health and Cancer Conference this weekend, hosted by the University of Vermont Cancer Center in Burlington. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is proud to sponsor and exhibit at this important gathering.
This national conference has brought together researchers, policy experts, patients, and advocates from across the country, all committed to improving cancer care in rural communities. Events like this are critical to advancing our understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals living with cancer in rural areas. From limited access to specialists and clinical trials to transportation and connectivity barriers, addressing these complexities requires collaboration, innovation, and sustained commitment.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Katelyn Queen, Dr. Randall Holcombe and the University of Vermont Cancer Center team for allowing LLS to contribute and be part of this incredible inaugural conference. Looking forward to learning, connecting, and being part of the conversation.
We’re honored to support this important effort and to join others working to ensure that no matter where someone lives, they have a fair chance at surviving and thriving beyond cancer.”
