“Unlocking AI for Clinicians and Healthcare Leaders: Let’s Boost Our AI Literacy!
With ASCO25 practically here (can you believe it?), I’m excited to share my latest essay with you all. I hope that it serves as a helpful guide, getting us all geared up and feeling even more confident as we dive into the AI advancements in oncology being showcased this week in Chicago. There are some fantastic AI sessions on the agenda (huge thanks and a shout-out to Erika Hamilton, and the team for putting together such an insightful lineup!).
Building AI literacy is crucial, and it’s something I’m passionate about supporting in our community. It’s what empowers us to see past the hype, ask insightful questions, and truly understand what we’re working with when evaluating any AI tool for our research or clinical care.
By arming ourselves with a solid understanding of how these powerful tools work – their amazing potential and their important considerations – we can navigate this landscape with confidence, skill, and a clear vision for patient benefit. It’s how we’ll make sure these brilliant new technologies help us achieve what matters most: easing suffering, giving our patients better, longer lives, and always upholding the deeply human core of medicine.
Ready to dive in? I’ve packed the essay with insights to help you get the most out of all those exciting AI discussions at ASCO.
Check it out below. I hope you find it valuable.
I’m looking forward to (re)connecting with so many of you in Chicago. Safe travels, and see you Thursday!”
