Vincent Rajkumar: FDA to allow Florida to import prescription drugs from Canada to combat high prices

“Huge news: FDA to allow Florida to import prescription drugs from Canada to combat high prices. Sad that we have to do this instead of fixing our own system.

I have supported importation of prescription drugs. I don’t think it’s the answer— but it will force us to examine our current policies, make drug manufacturers to think twice before hiking prices each year, and nudge prolonged monopoly into some semblance of a free market.

The FDA should allow other States to do the same. From Canada and even from selected countries in Europe. More here on causes of high prescription drug prices and solutions.”
