Mariana Fernandez, Senior Medical Director at Global Medical Affairs Hematology at Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine , shared a post on LinkedIn:
“New York, New York
Thrilled to have participated in the 1st International Workshop on GPRC5D- Targeted Myeloma Therapies iwGPRC5D2025 in NYC last weekend.
My deepest gratitude to Saad Z. Usmani and Sham Mailankody for their visionary leadership and tireless dedication in organizing this pivotal meeting. The insights shared, the discussions sparked and the hope ignited were truly inspiring.
As a physician, I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of myeloma on patients and families. The urgency to find more effective and tolerable treatments is paramount.
Scientifically, the data revealed the inmense potential of GPRC5D-as target. We are witnessing a paradigm shift, with novel modalities like bispecifics and CAR-T demonstrating remarkable efficacy.
We must remember that this is a journey, not a destination. To translate these scientific advancement into tangible benefits for patients, continue collaboration is essential.
Industry, academia and clinicians must work hand-in-hand.
Let us foster this enviroment, where innovation thrives and patients remains at the forefront!”
