Sheraz Azhar: Beyond Medicine – Innovating Cancer Care with Compassion
Sheraz Azhar, Co-Founder at ONCS Care, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Beyond Medicine: Innovating Cancer Care with Compassion.
Cancer care isn’t just about treatments – it’s about people, their fears, their hopes, and their experiences. I’ve seen first hand how small moments – a kind word, a shared laugh, even a dance – can bring comfort in the toughest times. But how do we make this the norm, not just the exception?
My cancer care innovation journey is about finding ways to make treatment more compassionate, patient-centered, and impactful. That means:
- Better communication & emotional support – Ensuring patients feel heard, informed, and less overwhelmed.
- Personalized, holistic care – Addressing not just the disease but also mental health, lifestyle, and well-being.
- Leveraging technology – Using AI and digital tools to empower patients and improve care.
- Creating healing environments – Small changes can make hospitals feel less clinical and more comforting.
- Bridging innovation & real-life impact – Bringing research and technology directly to patients in meaningful ways.
At the end of the day, what patients remember most isn’t just the treatment – it’s how we made them feel. Let’s make cancer care not just about survival, but about dignity, comfort, and even moments of joy.
For now, enjoy this dance with a courageous cancer survivor and my lovely consultant, Dr Olubukola Ayodele. Because healing isn’t just about medicine – it’s about moments like these.
I’d love to hear your thoughts – what small but meaningful acts have made a difference for you or someone you know?”
