Carmen Monge-Montero: Connecting with cancer survivors across Latin America through MANO
Carmen Monge-Montero, Researcher and patient advocate at Youth Cancer Europe, posted on LinkedIn:
“Hi Network!
We’re starting the year with more inspiring conversations, and I’m excited to share our 76th interview with someone who has lived through cancer!
This time, I spoke with Tameeka Ieremia, a young cancer survivor from Australia who was diagnosed at a young age. She now works with Canteen Australia, supporting other young people facing cancer. In honour of International Childhood Cancer Day, her story is a powerful reminder of the challenges young survivors face – and the impact of peer support.
MANO began as a personal project to connect with cancer survivors across Latin America. After speaking with survivors from every country in the region, we expanded globally, now sharing stories in both Spanish and English – like Tameeka’s – to reach even more people.
Thank you, Tameeka, for sharing your journey with us!
