Sumanta Pal: To all my friends in academia, industry, community practice and beyond
Sumanta Pal, Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs at City of Hope, shared on LinkedIn:
“To all my friends in academia, industry, community practice and beyond: If you are based in the SoCal region and have an interest in GU cancers, please read on. Several years ago, I had a vision that I discussed with Siamak Daneshmand of bringing together folks interested in prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and other GU malignancies to discuss possibilities for collaborative research and optimal patient care. We have since launched the SoCal GU Research Collaborative. After 2 years of planning with an incredible board (many of whom you will recognize) we have started a series of monthly journal clubs and will soon be announcing our first live meeting (set for March 2024).
Our first journal club was on November 16 and featured Nataliya Mar from UC Irvine discussing EV302 and Amar Kishan discussing SANDSTORM. Our second journal club is right around the corner and will feature Stephen Freedland from Cedars-Sinai discussing his recent NEJM paper on the EMBARK trial. If you’d like details, DM me and we will add you to the list!”
