Mark Lawler: Highlighting the poor delivery of optimal cancer care in UK
Mark Lawler, Chair in Translational Cancer Genomics at Queen’s University Belfast, shared a post on X quoting his older post:
“Following our key evidence (Jan 24) to Select Committee (see video) prompting new National Cancer Plan (NCP), our paper The Lancet Oncology on World Cancer Day highlights how poorly we are delivering optimal cancer care in UK. NCP must be Big, Bold, Ambitious and Now!
Quoting his earlier post:
“See below the evidence we presented over a year ago that was crucial to Health and Social Care Select Committee recommending reinstatement of the National Cancer Plan. As we approach World Cancer Day it’s the litmus test.
Wes Streeting don’t let us down. Be Bold, Brave and Ambitious.”
Quoting Health and Social Care Committee’s post:
“In today’s evidence session, Professor Mark Lawler told us why he believes that cancer should not be incorporated into the Major Conditions Strategy, but that there should be a dedicated cancer strategy. Here’s what he told us.”
