Runcie C.W. Chidebe: Great Initiative from OncoDaily in Contributing to Wikipedia for Cancer Awareness
Runcie C.W. Chidebe, Executive Director of Project PINK BLUE, shared a post by Gevorg Tamamyan, President-Elect of SIOP Asia Continental Branch and Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean (POEM) Group, shared a post on X:
“Great initiative. I am a Wiki volunteer. I brought the first Wikimedia team to Abuja in 2018 and the founding curator for Wikimedia Abuja Hub. Project PINK BLUE hosted so many Wiki events to help increase Wikipedia profiles for Nigerian women. This is an excellent move.”
Quoting Gevorg Tamamyan‘s post:
“OncoDaily‘s new initiative
Our team has started contributing to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, by expanding its content on oncology. Many renowned oncologists don’t have their own Wikipedia pages—so who should bring them in? Of course, we should!
And we need your help to make this a larger, collaborative effort. We’re looking for volunteers to join this initiative! Write about your mentors, colleagues, and the outstanding people in oncology. Let’s make sure their contributions are recognized in the global encyclopedia.
Our first entry features Eric Small from UCSF, President-Elect of ASCO, dear friend and colleague, mentor, and an exceptional physician-scientist. More to come soon, and with your help, hopefully, even more!
P.S. If you’d like to be part of this effort, message me, comment with a ‘+,’ or drop your email, and our team will get in touch.”
