Honoring Satenik Safaryan’s Legacy at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center – Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia
Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia shared on LinkedIn:
“A person dies when they are forgotten. But in this case, I am sure that her work will live on in that way. I will keep it alive.”
Satenik Safaryan was both a doctor and a patient. She worked as an oncologist at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, Ministry of Health of Armenia when she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Despite multiple attempts to fight the disease, Satenik did not overcome it. In her honor, one of the halls at the ‘Yeolyan’ Center now bears her name.
US Voice of America spoke with Satenik Safaryan’s mother, Nune Safaryan, who left her long career as a teacher after her daughter’s passing and now works at the ‘Yeolyan’ Hematology and Oncology Center.”
