“A powerful close to Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and a great segue into World Cancer Day next week!
I had the privilege of hosting a webinar on Global Outreach and Innovation in Cervical Cancer with esteemed colleagues Sushil Beriwal and Kelvin Ken Yu.
Dr. Beriwal shared his impactful work training radiation oncologists in volume-based brachytherapy in India. Remarkable results and practice uptake with a 2 day intervention.
Dr. Yu discussed implementing ultrasound-guided brachytherapy planning in the Philippines, a technique he refined during his fellowship with Sylvia van Dyk, Pearly Khaw, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre team.
I presented my project introducing image-guided brachytherapy in Durban, South Africa (IALCH/University of KwaZulu-Natal) using portable ultrasound for applicator insertion in collaboration with Abba Aji Mallum.
