Sean Khozin: Grateful to have joined the Richard Nixon Foundation Cancer Conference
Sean Khozin, CEO of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Grateful to have made the journey from the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco to join an exceptional gathering at the Richard Nixon Foundation Cancer Conference in Southern California.
It was particularly meaningful to share insights alongside Dr. Eric Stahlberg (MD Anderson Cancer Center) with Dr. Cliff Hudis (American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)) masterfully moderating our discussion on the future of medicine, cancer care, and artificial intelligence.
The timing of this conversation feels particularly poignant. As we witness the rapid evolution of AI capabilities, our session explored how these transformative technologies are reshaping the landscape of oncology.
Building on the foundation laid by President Nixon’s 1971 National Cancer Act, we’re now entering an era where AI is not just supporting, but fundamentally transforming how we approach cancer research and treatment.
During our discussion, we discussed how AI is aiding data analysis in cancer research, enhancing diagnostic precision, and supporting clinical decision-making with unprecedented depth. Yet what struck me most was our shared recognition that while AI offers immense potential, its implementation must be guided by rigorous scientific principles and unwavering ethical standards.
The vision is clear: AI can help democratize access to expert-level cancer care, enable more personalized treatment approaches, and accelerate the pace of clinical research. But perhaps most importantly, it can help us realize the original promise of the National Cancer Act in ways that weren’t possible before.
Thank you to the Richard Nixon Foundation for hosting this crucial dialogue and to my fellow participants for their thoughtful contributions. As we continue to navigate the intersection of human expertise and artificial intelligence in healthcare, I’m more convinced than ever that we’re on the cusp of a new era in biomedicine.”
