Sandra Salviejo: We are excited to officially launch LLS’s first-ever documentary
Sandra Salviejo, Senior Director of Communications at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It’s a big day here at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)! We are excited to officially launch LLS’s first-ever documentary! “Coloring Outside the Lines” follows the life-or-death journeys of four patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) as they participate in LLS’s Beat AML Master Clinical Trial.
The film captures the stories of Dorila, Jerry, Martha and Susan, who – after being given a devastating prognosis – were able to continue to enjoy their lives, hobbies, interests and extra time with their families. Today, more than 1,400 patients have joined the trial, which is improving survival rates and quality of life compared to standard chemotherapy.
As someone who lost my mother to acute myeloid leukemia, working with an incredible team on this documentary over the past five years has been incredibly rewarding. It certainly took a village to get to this point! Congratulations to Louis DeGennaro, Ashley Yocum, Amy Burd, Jamila Paksima Rowell, Geraldine Moriba, Sharon Mahoney, Bob Laverty, Ryan McDonald, Paul Bianchi, Jennifer Lieber, Andrea de Pablo, Joanna Zieglar, Robert D’Angelo, Kacie Meixel, Ted Wirth, and everyone else who made this possible!”
