“MASRI from an academic institution into a Globally recognized hub for healthcare, research and innovation.
Over the years, Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University (MASRI) has transformed from a mere idea into a tangible, impactful institution that has made significant strides in the field of medical research, innovation and its link to patient centered, social and industrial outcomes.
Eight different units with adopted new technologies, state of the art laboratories, securing fund from both public and private sectors which created a space for entrepreneurship and remarkable transformation.
Over the last week , we had the honor to announce the release of the Arab Biobank Network, the first of its kind from Ain Shams University, in presence of Leaders from The League of the Arab States, Professor Zisis Kozlakidis, Head of Lab services and Biobank in IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization and Leaders from the Arabian Countries, great milestone defining our future.
We are proud that MASRI Biobank the first and largest in the Egyptian Universities with almost 30,000 patient’s biopsies for the major cancer types, integrating the latest techniques and the top ranked, well trained medical teams which opening the gate towards greater interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting edge research, and patient centered care with improved clinical outcomes and delivery of cost effective services.”
Dr. Hesham ElGhazaly is an oncologist and founder of Alfa Cure Oncology Center. He serves as a member of the IARC Scientific Committee at the International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization. He also leads the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health at Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population and heads MASRI at Ain Shams University. As a professor in the Clinical Oncology Department at Ain Shams University, he is dedicated to advancing cancer treatment and research.
