Rasha Aboelhassan: What is the best strategy for sphincter preservation in localized rectal cancer?
Rasha Aboelhassan,
Nasser Institute Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:“What is the best strategy for sphincter preservation in localized rectal cancer?
This wasn’t the greatest challenge in my talk today in Onco-Egypt 2023, the greatest challenge was in early detection and screening for suitable patients for sphincter preservation.
Anyway, I found how to overcome this challenge:With a small group of Oncology professionals committee, you can solve most of challenging questions
Today’s session, we all realised that the answers are yes, we can :
yes we can preserve the sphincter in advanced rectal cancer
yes, we can schedule screening for high risk persons.
yes we can build our own strategy for follow up and watch and wait. The great challenge is not in lack of resources, but we just need communication through professional cancer committee.”
