OncoInfluencers to Follow on Social Media: Julia Maués
We’re thrilled to feature Julia Maués, a passionate advocate for cancer research and care, as our next oncoinfluencer.
About Julia Maués
Julia Maués is the co-founder of GRASP (Guiding Researchers and Advocates to Scientific Partnerships), an organization that fosters collaboration between researchers and patient advocates to advance cancer research. She actively works to eliminate disparities in breast cancer care for patients of color, particularly Black women, and is a founding member of the Inclusion Pledge. Diagnosed with breast cancer during pregnancy in 2013, Maués delivered a healthy baby boy but soon discovered that the cancer had metastasized to her bones, liver, and brain. Despite multiple treatment challenges, her condition began improving with effective therapies.
Julia Maués actively uses social media to share her journey, promote cancer advocacy, and highlight initiatives aimed at improving cancer care for underserved populations. Her insights into patient-centered care, diversity in clinical trials, and cancer research are invaluable for anyone following the oncology landscape.
