Mohamad Mohty: Reflections before the start of ASH24
Mohamad Mohty, Professor of Hematology at Sorbonne University and head of the Clinical Hematology and Cellular Therapy Department at Saint-Antoine Hospital, shared a post on X:
“Reflections before the start of ASH24: The field of hematology continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, and the advancements showcased at ASH24 demonstrate this remarkable progress.
Immunotherapy has reached new heights with enhanced CAR-T cell therapies and bispecific antibodies, offering hope for patients with refractory malignancies. Biology advances are also revolutionizing diagnostics and precision medicine, allowing for earlier detection and more tailored early therapeutic strategies.
In Parallel, ground breaking developments in the use of gene therapy and gene editing, have paved the way for curative treatments for hemoglobinopathies. Furthermore, innovations in clotting factor replacement and non-factor therapies are transforming the management of hemophilia, significantly improving patients’ quality of life.
These transformative breakthroughs exemplify the dynamic nature of the hematology field and reaffirm the importance of global collaboration.
These strides inspire us to continue driving forward for better patient outcomes worldwide.
THANK YOU ASH and Dr. Mohan Narla.”
