Stacey Tinianov: ‘Nailing down’ risk and improving outcomes in early-stage breast cancer
Stacey Tinianov shared on LinkedIn:
“‘For generations, physicians, patients, and the public have received messaging that early-stage breast cancer is low-risk for premature death…. Yet, despite a 40% reduction in breast cancer mortality in a similar timeframe, the risk of breast cancer-specific death has increased ONLY for patients with the earliest-stage disease.”
In advance of SABCS24, I’m excited to share our article ”Nailing down;’ risk and improving outcomes in early-stage breast cancer,’ newly published in JNCI, and hopeful we will begin to take a balanced look at addressing the unmet need in late metastases of what has been previously bucketed as ‘low-risk’ early stage disease.
So much gratitude for co-authors Stephanie Graff, and Kevin Kalinsky for welcoming the advocate voice into this conversation and so many others.”
