St. Elizabeth physicians describing major system-wide initiatives to improve cancer screening
Douglas Flora, Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, shared a post by American Medical Group Association (AMGA) on LinkedIn:
“5,500 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer today. That’s a staggering reality, and it includes 653 new cases of lung cancer alone. Each day, thousands face a life-changing diagnosis, and our mission is to do everything in our power to save as many as we possibly can.
To the incredible teams St. Elizabeth Physicians and St. Elizabeth Healthcare behind this work—dozens of you, too many to name individually—I want to extend my gratitude. Your dedication and passion are driving real change, and together, we are creating a stronger, more responsive system for cancer care. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, but make no mistake: we’re just getting started.
We have powerful tools at our fingertips, from advanced diagnostics to innovative treatments, and the momentum is real. But to make a lasting impact, we need to make cancer care a higher priority across the board.
The potential to save so many more lives is here; now it’s on us to act.”
Quoting American Medical Group Association (AMGA)‘s post:
“St. Elizabeth Physicians, an honoree of the 2024 AMGA Acclaim Award, placed a high priority on screening as an important tool in the fight against cancer, allowing for early detection, which can greatly improve chances of survival for patients.
