“Professor Brian Gabrielli and Professor Kristen Radford swapped their lab coats for party frocks this week for Frocktober. Alongside their teams, they are raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), which generously supports both of their research programs.
– Prof Gabrielli is testing a new treatment approach that increases the ability of a patient’s own immune system to recognise and attack tumour cells. Like immunotherapy, it aims to create a more effective and less toxic treatment than chemotherapy.
– Prof Radford hopes to create a targeted vaccine, initially focusing on high-grade serous ovarian cancer to train the immune system to recognise cancerous cells and respond against them.”
