“When my father, David Jaiman Kim, was hospitalized in 2014 with Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), he talked fondly about a nurse in unit 4B at Carolinas Medical Center. My father passed away but my family takes comfort in knowing he was cared for with excellence and compassion.
While attending the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation – MMRF’s Health Equity Summit on the East Coast, a woman came up to me and said she recognized me. It was Shelli Spence, my father’s nurse. She now works for AbbVie.
