Lisa Lacasse shared insights on Cancer Survivorship Summit and its agenda

Lisa Lacasse, the President of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), shared on LinkedIn:

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is proud to be part of this Cancer Survivorship Summit that addresses life after diagnosis with breast cancer survivor U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The Summit highlights gaps in survivorship care, discuss policy proposals, and provide national and Florida community-based resources and support services. This gathering brings together survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to share stories, support one another, and learn about the latest advancements in cancer survivorship.

Our very own Director Director of Federal Relations, Access to Care Jelani Murrain will be facilitating a panel discussion on health disparities, a topic at the center of our work at ACS CAN. This segment will highlight social determinants of health and their impact on survivors, such as transportation, childcare, housing, homecare, food insecurity, access to broadband, and more. It will highlight health disparities and equity issues that affect certain communities and how this creates barriers to survivorship care.

Panelists will include:
Michelle Clark, Nova Southeastern University
Usha Menon, University of South Florida
Gary Puckrein, National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF)
Farhad Islami, American Cancer Society (ACS)

My friend, Arif Kamal will also participate in the panel Survive and Thrive: Navigating Survivorship with other brilliant navigation experts.

Excited to continue to hear from guests from The White House, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society for Reproductive Research, Child Cancer Cause, Moffitt Cancer Center, UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Tigerlily Foundation, Young Survival Coalition, and Cancer Cause.

Join me in watching.”
