“Outreach at Karonmajigi: Spreading Cervical Cancer Awareness
Our team recently visited the Karonmajigi community to raise awareness about cervical cancer. We began with a meaningful visit to the palace of the Hakimi, engaging with the women leaders about the importance of educating their community on cervical cancer.
We also visited the primary healthcare center to prepare for the main outreach event. We made two visits to ensure that as many women as possible benefited from the outreach.
During the event, we educated women on the dangers, signs, and symptoms of cervical cancer, emphasizing prevention through vaccination and screening. A number of women underwent cervical screening, and we attended to those showing concerning signs. Additionally, we vaccinated several girls in the community with the HPV vaccine to protect the next generation.
This outreach sponsored by Helium Health was a huge success, and we are grateful to the Karonmajigi community for their warm reception and participation. Together, we’re making strides towards a Cancer Free Cervix.”
