Nwamaka Lasebikan: An enlightening experience participating in the Foreign Policy health forum at UNGA79
Nwamaka Lasebikan shared on LinkedIn:
“It was an enlightening experience participating in the Foreign Policy health forum at UNGA79 with Bob Li and Darryl Sleep, in a panel discussion expertly moderated by Dr. Mayesha A. from Foreign Policy.
We delved into the significance of adopting a transformative and contextual approach to bolster the health system, underlining the necessity of locally relevant research for lasting impact and sustainability.
The session’s spotlight on global Oncology underscored the importance of personalized care while mitigating existing disparities, advocating for the inclusion of Africa and other LMICs in these crucial conversations.
Critical components for enhancing the health system were identified, including workforce development and insights from The Lancet commission report on women, power and cancer – gender responsive care by City Cancer Challenge.”
