“Sharing Insights on Community-Based Participatory Research at the PRECISE Symposium
A few days ago, I had the privilege of representing City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) at the Precision Cancer Care in Africa (PRECISE) Symposium, where I spoke on Community-Based Participatory Research. It was an exciting opportunity to share insights on C/Can’s initiatives and how multi-sectoral collaboration is at the heart of our approach.
By engaging communities of cancer care professionals, policymakers, civil society organizations, and patient groups, we conduct needs assessments and implement projects in a way that reflects the priorities of the cancer care community in Abuja. This has been one of the key drivers of our success across cities worldwide.
A huge congratulations to the PRECISE team for organizing such a timely and impactful symposium in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania Center for Global and Population Health Research in Radiology and National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (NICRAT), in partnership with Project PINK BLUE, Global Health Catalyst, Earnest Cook Ultrasound Research and Education Institute, Uganda, the Medical Artificial Intelligence Lab, Nigeria, and the Consortium for Advancement of MRI Educatiob and Research in Africa (CAMARA).
It was also fantastic to meet and network with stakeholders committed to improving cancer care in Africa. I look forward to continued collaboration in the fight against cancer!”
