Reem Al-Ajlouni: Happy to be part of the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative
Reem Al-Ajlouni shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Happy to be part of the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative!
Breast cancer remains a significant global health challenge, disproportionately affecting women in low- and middle-income countries. It was a pleasure joining the recent UN dialogue on the Global Breast Cancer Initiative priorities and actions.
As the Initiative highlights, early detection and awareness are key to improving outcomes. While significant progress has been made in high-income countries, there’s still a need to address knowledge gaps and ensure equitable access to care worldwide. As Dr. Mary Nyangasi, the lead of WHO’s Global Breast Cancer Initiative, stated, ‘We must advocate and educate to empower individuals with the knowledge that cancer can be cured, especially if caught early.’
By empowering women with information, advocating for their rights, and working together, real difference in combating breast cancer can be achieved.”
