Every day, over 450 researchers at Máxima work to improve survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer – Prinses Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology.

“Every day, over 450 researchers at Máxima work to improve survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer. Every year they come together during the Máxima Research Retreat to learn on a scientific and personal level, gain inspiration and to get to know each other better. Last Wednesday and Thursday it was that time again: within the theme ‘Open up’ the researchers gathered in Baarlo, Limburg.
Bas Haring, Edwin Cuppen and Jolanda de Vries gave inspiring and stimulating key notes. Researchers learned from each other during the Synergy and PhD talks, and Damon Hofman from the Van Heesch group won the prize for best presentation. In addition, there were numerous workshops to follow: How do I tell about my research to lay people (Marloes ten Kate), How do I become a star in presenting (Ideline Meijer) and Powerpoint Karaoke (Marieke van Laar). Read more here.
Will we see you at the retreat next year? Check out our positions for researchers here.”
