Shikha Jain: I hope we can find real world solutions to actually address and combat this real problem that negatively impacts the health of countless individuals.

“Another whirlwind HLTH in the books. Was an honor to share the stage with Shuchi Rana and see so many people focused on trying to work towards positive disruption of our healthcare systems.
I always find it interesting that some really cool tech and innovation is presented or discussed at these conferences, but many times those who deliver the care are not involved in the creation of these technologies. I heard some really cool stuff on AI and ways to improve our systems, but also heard some ideas and products that practically would not make sense for practicing physicians or nurses to incorporate effectively into processes. Some tech is just that, cool tech, but the practicality of it actually allowing real change in the healthcare space may be challenging, or in some cases impossible. This is why it is so important to have those people who are delivering the care, like physicians and nurses, to be involved in conceptualizing some of these innovations. It’s nice to see more physicians coming to these types of conferences and I hope we continue to see more docs and nurses in the leadership of championing some of these technologies that could be game changers in addressing HCW burnout, improving the patient experience, working towards equity in our systems, and much more.
Also loved to see the sessions addressing misinformation and disinformation, a real public health crisis that seems to just be getting worse. I hope we can find real world solutions to actually address and combat this real problem that negatively impacts the health of countless individuals.”
