“Glad to join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist’s Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) as they honored Casey Vick, RN with the national DAISY Award. This award allows patients to recognize nurses for their compassionate and skillful care. Casey was nominated for going above and beyond and taking exceptional care of a patient in the last moments of his life. The patient’s family said Casey took nursing to a new level. Thank you, Casey, for being a shining example of what it means to improve health, elevate hope, and advance healing – for all!”

David Zaas is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician with an interest in advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation, focusing on improving outcomes from lung transplantation including the role of infectious complications and organ rejection.
