Children’s Cancer Institute raised $1,973,376 during Diamond Ball 2024

Children’s Cancer Institute shared on LinkedIn:

“What an Unforgettable Night! Diamond Ball 2024 was a huge success and a truly magical evening.

We’re thrilled to announce, that an incredible $1,973,376 was raised on the night, surpassing all our expectations and enabling us to fund the equivalent of 13 senior researchers and the consumables required to complete their research for a year.

This incredible generosity is invaluable as we continue our mission to fund vital research and work towards finding a cure for childhood cancer.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful families, researchers, and donors – your support made this achievement possible.

We are so grateful to our amazing Family Ambassadors who shared their stories. Particularly Sarah and Craig Wilkinson who touched every heart in the room as they shared their gorgeous daughter Izzy’s story after she sadly passed away from DIPG (a very aggressive brain cancer).

Also to Paul and Kristen Kennelly who allowed us into their home to film an incredible moving video about their beautiful boy Jack, and his extraordinary recovery from his own brain cancer, largely thanks to his enrolment on the Zero Childhood Cancer Program.

Thank you to our wonderful co-hosts, Kylie Gillies and Michael Usher for your humour, heart and professionalism to help the night run smoothly.

Thank you to Nikki Quinn, our long-term Family Ambassador and childhood cancer survivor for her powerful Acknowledgement of Country.

We’re also deeply grateful to the Institute’s friends and partners who contributed to our raffle and auction. Your generous gifts and unique experiences played a key role in reaching our goals.

And a final special thank you to our amazing crew of volunteers who gave up their Saturday evening to help us create a magical and memorable experience for our guests.”
