Sarah Louden: Celebrating strength, courage, and advocacy in the fight against genetic cancers

Sarah Louden,

“What a night! Total Health | Oncology had the honor of sponsoring a table at the BRCAStrong Gala, and I’m still processing all the powerful moments.

Tracy Milgram and her team put on a beautiful event, celebrating strength, courage, and advocacy in the fight against genetic cancers. I was incredibly moved by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for Congress as she shared her personal story of diagnosis and the upcoming decisions her children will face about genetic testing.

I had the privilege of cheering on an old friend, Dr. Sophia George from the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center who works tirelessly on behalf of Black people and genetic cancers.

Meeting up with Rosa Cora from Gilead Oncology who is a passionate advocate for women with breast cancer, was an absolute joy. And what an honor to listen to Mathew Knowles —yes, Beyoncé’s dad!—speak about survival, faith, and resilience as he and his wife were recognized for their contributions.

I’m always inspired by Debbie Denardi from FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered Her dedication to advocacy, especially for Latinx women, is unmatched.

But mostly, I was humbled to share this evening with my mom, my sister, a family friend, and some incredible colleagues like Lauren Lozier from our marketing team and the dynamic Sharon Gill.

This life, this mission—fighting cancer alongside so many passionate and powerful individuals—leaves me deeply grateful.

Cancer, you lose. We fight on.”
