Catharina Boehme: More than 100,000 people have left their homes in neighbouring Nagorno-Karabakh.
Catharina Boehme, Assistant Director of General External Relations at the World Health Organization, shared on LinkedIn:
“The health and humanitarian needs in Armenia are concerning, and growing at a staggering speed. More than 100,000 people have left their homes in neighbouring Nagorno-Karabakh.
Experts on the ground are helping mobilize emergency medical teams, assessing health needs. It’s a team effort between international agencies, NGOs, and local authorities.
Over the last couple of days, the WHO Regional Office for Europe special envoy Robb Butler visited Goris and Yerevan to meet with officials, health workers, and people affected by the crisis. Here’s what he had to say.
We will continue supporting going forward.”
