Julie McCrossin: Sze Yarn Sin’s presentation on proton therapy
Julie McCrossin shared a post on LinkedIn:
“If you have an interest in proton therapy, here are the PowerPoint slides for the presentation today by Advanced Practitioner Radiation Therapist Sze Yarn Sin from the National Cancer Centre Singapore.
The topic was “Patient positioning and immobilisation procedures for proton therapy.”
“Tandem with high quality imaging and stable patient positioning immobilisation is the governing factor.”
Immobilisation can have its challenges for some patients, physically and psychologically.
Sin emphasised not only the role of communication and consultation within the multidisciplinary cancer team, but also the importance of communication with the patient so that we understand why immobilisation is necessary for our safety and treatment outcomes.”
