Sonja Hess: Thrilled to be on the cover of this month’s Journal of Proteomics Research
Sonja Hess, Senior Director of Centre of Genomics Research, Discovery Sciences, R&D BioPharmaceuticals at AstraZeneca, shared on LinkedIn:
“I’m thrilled to be featured on the cover of this month’s Journal of Proteomics Research as part of the ‘Women in Proteomics and Metabolomics Special Issue’. It’s a privilege to contribute to such a dynamic field and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible team, past and present, who made this achievement possible.
The cover highlights the essential contributions of women scientists in Proteomics and Metabolomics. Being recognized as part of this special issue is truly humbling, and I’m enthusiastic about furthering advancements in the field while empowering the next generation of women in science. This edition highlights our collaboration with teams across Astra Zeneca and presents our discovery that using a microfluidic-chip for cell sorting retained the cells’ original state better than traditional high-pressure sorting. It also led to faster recovery to the cell’s normal state and had a reduced impact on the proteome and metabolome. A big thank you to everyone involved in this study for their invaluable contributions.
