Congrats to OSUCCC – James Physician Patient Champion Awardees
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) Physician Patient Champion Award is given to physicians who show exceptional dedication to patient care in oncology. This award honors those who actively support, advocate for, and prioritize their patient’s needs and well-being.
The 2024 OSUCCC Physician Patient Champion Awardees are:
- David Carbone
David Carbone is the Director of the James Thoracic Center and a Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. His research focuses on lung cancer, including proteomic and expression array signatures, lung cancer genetics, cancer immunotherapy, and tumor-associated immunosuppression. He has received substantial grant support and has extensively published in these areas.
- Ashley Davenport
Ashley Davenport joined the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University after completing her hematology and oncology fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. As a member of the Cancer Control Program at the OSUCCC – James, her research focuses on developing educational models to enhance oncology training and improve patient access to quality oncology care.
- Adam Khorasanchi
Adam Khorasanchi is a medical oncologist at the OSUCCC – James, specializing in treating patients hospitalized due to complications or serious side effects from cancer treatments. He also serves as an assistant professor in the Division of Medical Oncology.
- Bhavana Konda
Bhavana Konda is a medical oncologist at the OSUCCC – James, specializing in thyroid, adrenocortical, and neuroendocrine tumors. As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program, her research focuses on improving treatment options for patients with endocrine-related cancers through clinical trials.
- Robert Wesolowski
Robert Wesolowski is a medical oncologist at the OSUCCC – James specializing in the treatment of all types of breast cancer, including female and male breast cancers, ductal and lobular carcinomas, medullary carcinomas, and inflammatory breast cancers.
