Highlights from DAVA Oncology Translational Summit on Hematologic Malignancies

3rd Translational Summit on Hematologic Malignancies by DAVA Oncology is formatted to foster discussion and debate on the evolution of treatment approaches to hematologic malignancies. The Summit features didactic lectures and panel discussions, and discussions of new approaches designed to overcome treatment challenges.

Compelling data on the effects of novel strategies, such as chimeric antigen receptorexpressing T cells, new targets in B-cell malignancies, myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, and antibody-based therapy, have led to an explosion of new information and agents in development for patients with hematologic malignancies.

This year it is taking place in Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Bermuda, August 7-11, 2024.

Rahul Banerjee, Assistant Professor at UW Medicine:

“The myeloid world gave up on anti-CD47 targeting, now it’s the myeloma world’s turn! Joshua Richter bringing up MagnetisMM-20 and how CD47 blockade may be synergistic with elranatamab in multiple myeloma. Cookie Monster taking a BiTE out of plasma cells?

Now Hearn Jay Cho discussing how to send T cells to rehab if they get exhausted… A fascinating concept: Use PCd (yes, oral Cy can reduce T regs preferentially and Pom definitely helps) to prime them, and consider CD38s or even PD1 antagonists down the line?”

Joshua Richte, Associate Professor of Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology at The Tisch Cancer Institute:

“If you don’t tweet about it did it really happen? ⁦Rahul Banerjee⁩ posing for the post right before walking us through how to choose between the bispecifics in myeloma. Photobomb courtesy of Ken Shain. ”

Brittany Knick Ragon, Director of Hematology Operations, Department of Hematologic Oncology and Blood Disorders at Levine Cancer Institute:

“With new and old friends learning and sharing at DAVA hematology – thanks to Catherine Lai for being our myeloid group social director. ”
