Alique Topalian: My mentee is creating a supportive and social service registry for cancer survivorship

“So proud of my mentee Kaylee LeVan for her amazing work this summer! Kaylee is an undergraduate student who is part of the Cancer Research Scholars Program. This summer I had Kaylee work on creating a supportive and social service registry for cancer survivorship.

We are always looking for new ways to help our patients and want to be sure we know the local and national organizations in our field we can refer our patients to.

This project was created in direct response to the needs of nurse navigators and clinicians in our division. Kaylee currently has over 600 organizations in this registry and is still actively adding more. We hope to take this ‘master file’ and build a registry that can be used by the whole care team, non-profit organizations, and patients/ families!
