Dr. Tanya Trippett: Hope for children with cancer can show itself in many ways.
Dr. Tanya Trippett, Oncologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, made the following post on LinkedIn:
“Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Hope for children with cancer can show itself in many ways. Champions from all walks of life and professions are the hands that make what seems impossible possible. One of the Wish 4 Life Foundation Core Values is iP, Intellectual Philanthropy, the giving forward of experiential knowledge by professionals to help solve the challenges that children with cancer in emerging nations and their families face when attempting to gain access to cancer care close to home. Starting from a wish of a child from Africa, the goal of the International Children’s Cancer Research Centre (ICCRC) in Asikam, Ghana is to make access to quality and compassionate cancer care close to home possible for children in Africa.
The road to the Sod Cutting Ceremony for the ICCRC was made possible through the hard work of the dedicated individuals of the Akyem Abuakwa community under the direction of the Okyenhene and Kofi Gyimah Amoako-Gyimah (Kyebi, Ghana), Rob Fleming of Gold Coast Project Management, LTD (South Africa), Charles Antwi, Esq of CDA Advisors (Ghana), Jeffrey Berman, Jeffrey Berman Architect (NY) and the members of the Wish 4 Life Foundation, resulting in signing the title transfer on September 7, 2023. We are ever so grateful! Let’s make the world a better place for our children.”
