Douglas Flora: Looking for Interventional Pulmonologist to join our advanced bronchoscopy team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare
Douglas Flora shared a post on LinkedIn by Bertalan Meskó, commenting:
“Here we grow again. Our expanding Thoracic Oncology team is looking for a board-certified Interventional Pulmonologist to join our advanced bronchoscopy team.
We have two Ions and consistently rank in the top ten nationally for this procedure and for our best in class lung cancer screening program (>43,000 screened to date!)
Our investment in these advanced technologies and subspecialized physicians is just another example of St. Elizabeth Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Physicians commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care. Check us out, and reach out if questions.”
Quoting Bertalan Meskó’s post:
“Intuitive Surgical’s Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy has been around for years, but this is the first time I saw it in action.
This is a robot that can perform minimally invasive peripheral lung biopsy! It allows physicians to take biopsies from inside the lungs rather than outside, reducing the risk of lung collapse.
We tend to focus on the downsides and challenges around using advanced technologies in healthcare, because when it comes to patients’ lives, it’s never good enough.
But this time, let’s just marvel at the amazing technology people can develop.”
