Robin Zon: As community docs we also have opportunities to be the light for others
Robin Zon posted on LinkedIn:
“This is a very humbling and powerful photo for me. Why? Here I am pictured with Dr. Ashely Ghiaseddin , Chief of Neuro-oncology at the University of Florida Health. As it turns out Ashely shadowed myself and my partner in my community practice as a medical student 14 years ago – and traveled to the FLASCO meeting to share with me how impactful that experience was ‘that changed the direction of my career …. And as a result I have so much respect for community oncologists because of their dedication’. As I reflect on my theme of embracing community as a one pillar of my Pres Theme, this captured moment reminds me of all the incredible work we all do everyday, and that as community docs we also have opportunities to be the light for others. .
So as ASCO special awards are open for nominations by ASCO members-as a reminder ASCO members from all practices – including academic, international and community are eligible to be nominated.
‘Together we are stronger than cancer’.”
