Angela Mastronuzzi: Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesu’s team at the ISPNO2024

Angela Mastronuzzi posted on LinkedIn:

“I am extremely proud of my team for representing Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù and showcasing our work at the ISPNO2024 this year in Philadelphia!

Unfortunately I was unable to attend but I would like to thank all my colleagues for the support I received from Philly and those who reached out to me. I hope to see everyone in Sydney and that the strength that holds our group together is that of friendship and love.

Andrea Carai, Mara Vinci and Lucia Pedace gave oral presentations:
Mara: <<Spatial single-cell proteomic analysis maps the distinct pediatric-type diffuse high-grade glioma tumor entities and defines their tumor and immune microenvironments>>
Andrea: <<Virtualreality assistance in the management of pediatric brain tumors>>
Lucia: <<Genome-wide DNA methylation profiling of primary cells from pediatric brain tumors is an informative tool to assess cell culture reliability and in vitro selection>>

Antonella Cacchione, Giada Del Baldo, Luana Abballe and Viola Alesi presented posters for their abstracts:

  • <<Real-life experience with a ‘modified-MEMMAT’ regimen for relapsed medulloblastoma>>
  •  <<Altered immune activation and reduced lymphopoiesis in treatment naïve pediatric brain tumour patients>>
  • <<Cancer Predisposition Syndromes in pediatric patients with high-grade gliomas>>
  • <<Clinical outcome and survival of infant Medulloblastoma patients: the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital experience>>
  • <<ONC201 inhibits the characteristics of cancer stem cells in Group 3 Medulloblastoma>>
  • <<Utility of Optical Genome Mapping in the characterization of paediatric central nervous system tumors: analysis of a mono-institutional series of 26 cases>>
*Some papers are currently under review for publication

Was a thrill for some of my team to have been invited to visit Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, an incredible reminder of the universal work we are doing globally in the fight against childhood cancer.

Thank you to Anita Granero and OSCAR’S ANGELS France for attending the conference.

And finally a special thank you to ‘Il Coraggio dei Bambini’ Foundation who provided my team the opportunity to be at this important neurooncology symposium.”              .
