St Augustine’s College – Sydney hosted a ‘Cut for a Cure’ day to raise money for The Isaac Fund
Children’s Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last Monday 24th June, students, staff and alumni at St Augustine’s College – Sydney hosted a ‘Cut for a Cure’ day to raise money for The Isaac Fund. We are thrilled to share that the day was a huge success, raising over $72,000 for childhood brain cancer research!
Isaac McInnes tragically lost his life to a rare brain cancer, anaplastic astrocytoma grade III, in November 2018. His family set up The Isaac Fund to support further research into childhood brain tumors, which has raised over $1.2m to date.
‘Cut for a Cure’ was initiated by Isaac’s younger brother Angus, who is now in Year 12 at St Augustine’s. Some fabulous hairstyles were created, with brave teachers and students opting for a head shave, mullet or dyed hair on the day. All funds raised will go directly to The Isaac Fund.
We are blown away by the incredible support of the school community and are so thankful to the McInnes family and everyone at St Augustine’s who helped to bring this amazing event to life.”
