Navneet Bali: It’s strange but true that the biggest impediment in our fight against cancer is fear of finding out.
Quoting Navneet Bali, CEO Clearmedi Healthcare, on LinkedIn:
”It’s strange but true that the biggest impediment in our fight against cancer is FOFO ( Fear of finding out ). We rarely think about this psychological aspect as we deliberate cancer screening at a mass scale to detect cancer at the early stages . None of us truly want to get a screening done due to fear – what if cancer is detected .
The data on cancer incidences in india can be googled by anyone but it suffices to say that not only we have a very high burden of cancer , around 75-80% of cancers are detected in 3/4th stage .
Apparently the classic cancer screening methods are not working in india and we need to bring a revolution in this regards . What should we do for people to get screened and at regular intervals ?
With Morgan Stanley reposing its faith in us , we would be putting our thoughts together as to how to solve this conundrum and bring collaborations on a large scale to detect cancer at stage 1 or 2 . Inviting thoughts , individuals , institutions and companies who would like to partner with us in this crucial journey .Together we can make this change a reality .”
