“Last week we were delighted to attend the European Health Management Conference in Bucharest. Jessica Hooper from the Network Secretariat presented our report Care pathways for lung cancer: building a foundation for optimal care.
During her presentation, Jessica highlighted how care pathways enhance lung cancer outcomes, and emphasised the need for policymakers to support national implementation of these pathways with standardised yet adaptable guidelines.
Several themes emerged from the conference, including: the importance of a resilient healthcare workforce; multidisciplinary education; and evidence-based policy development for improved care coordination and quality.
We look forward to continuing these discussions at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in September.
