“On the cusp of Uterine Cancer Awareness month, it was alternately surreal and invigorating to be featured in the Swedish Foundation story about my endometrial cancer experience and the comprehensive care I received from Swedish Health System. The gynecologic oncology clinicians are next-level awesome, and as the article describes, the opportunity to engage in art therapy was particularly therapeutic.
I’ve said it before, but the ‘listen to your body’ message cannot be repeated often enough. The signs and symptoms of Uterine Cancer can be mistaken for other conditions. Since it is now the 6th most common cancer in women, we must be vigilant, aware, and forthcoming if we experience abnormal vaginal bleeding, GI symptoms, unexplained weight loss, or pelvic pain.
