“Save the date! Announcement to health disparities community .
All are invited to 2nd-ever Health Disparities in Hematologic Malignancies Conference, co-hosted by MD Anderson Cancer Centerand Weill Cornell Medicine. This meeting will cover the whole gamut of disparities research.
This 2-day Houston meeting (June 7-8) starts off with a close look at genomic ancestry and the impact on disease risk, prognosis and treatment – then explores the impact of social determinants of health on disease outcomes. Day 1 concludes with patient advocacy and poster sessions.
Then, on day 2, the program includes great sessions on modeling disparities, challenges in lower/middle income countries, community engagement/partnership building, and disparities in drug metabolism, toxicity, and biology.
Day 2 continues with a discussion on building a funding strategy to address disparities (featuring leadership from ASH/The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society/Lymphoma Research Foundation/FDA Oncology) and concludes with keynote from Monica Guzman and Weill Cornell Medicine on Tailoring Therapies against Leukemia Stem Cells in AML.
How do I register? See link here! Is there zoom option for attending? Are travel awards available? Yes and Yes!! Should I submit my abstract on disparities in heme malignancies for the poster session? Also yes! Looking forward to a great meeting.”
