CCR researchers reported that the Tox2 gene is critical for the function of certain gut cells – NCI Center for Cancer Research

“NEW FINDINGS: CCR researchers reported that the Tox2 gene is critical for the maintenance and function of certain gut cells. The gene is therefore critical for such cells’ adaptation to fluctuating gut environments.

These findings were published in Immunity, a journal by Cell Press, on April 18. Dr. Avinash Bhandoola, a senior investigator in our Laboratory of Genome Integrity, led this discovery. He and his lab work to understand the regulatory and developmental logic that establishes a functioning immune system.”
