Maite Gorostegui, Chair of the SIOP Global Mapping Programme, shared a post by Foundation S on LinkedIn, adding:
“Thank you Foundation S for this beautiful post. Programa TELEO is certainly doing a huge impact in Latin America, and beyond…fellows in pediatric oncology from Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu join the program too. The classes for the fellows are online, but live! and they have the opportunity to clarify any doubt. There are other courses, webinars, etc. Recently we added ‘deconstructing papers’ this initiative from Guillermo Chantada is unique and opens the doors to any country. It is an atypical Journal Club with the feet on the ground, talking from the idea that inspired the paper to the difficulties that the investigators may find in their way to conduct the research and get it published. Gracias a todos los que forman parte de este programa!”

“World Child Cancer Day – honoring our strategic partners.
Today, we are pleased to honor the contribution of one of our strategic partners, Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona (Spain), that leads the TeLeo Program across 12 Latin American Countries.
The TeLeo program supports innovative pediatric oncology education across Latin America, by providing healthcare professionals with access to a comprehensive virtual platform. This Tele-educational project delivers general training for specialists in pediatric hematology and oncology. It serves as a training resource in institutions in medium- and low-income countries, and enabled networking and collaboration to to foster progress in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in Latin America.
Foundation S is proud to share the progress of the TeLeo program, which has 5,278 active users on the platform. In addition, 168 fellows across 30 pediatric hemato-oncology units committed to complete a two-year course on TeLeo which will end with a certificate in pediatric oncology. TeLeo program demonstrates the impact of digital education in improving care for children with cancer.
Feel free to access to Foundation S global partners via our My Child Matters Open Data Platform.
Together let’s create healthier futures for generations to come.”
