Jason Ryan: Mentors are important in medical training but so are Anti-Mentors
Jason Ryan, Associate Professor at UConn School of Medicine, shared on X/Twitter:
“Mentors are important in medical training but so are Anti-Mentors! The people you meet in medicine that you NEVER want to be like. There are SO many. Try to figure out how they got to be as they are. This can shape your career in more ways than you know. I attended most of the lectures in M1/M2 even though they weren’t mandatory. When I heard a bad lecture, I tried to think of what exactly made it bad, and how it could be better. This greatly influenced the way I teach today.”
