Everyone Diagnosed with Lung Cancer Deserves to Understand their Options – Lung Cancer Europe
Lung Cancer Europe shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today is the first ever World Radiotherapy Awareness Day, and we’re supporting it.
Radiotherapy plays a critical role in lung cancer care.
It can shrink tumours, ease symptoms, or aim to cure.
But many people who need it still don’t get access – even in Europe.
- Up to 82% of people with lung cancer in Europe need radiotherapy
- More than 1 in 4 people with cancer who need it don’t receive it
- For people with incurable small-cell lung cancer, studies show radiotherapy is often underused even when it could help with symptoms or quality of life
Everyone diagnosed with lung cancer deserves to understand their options and have access to the treatment they need.”
